Restorative Dentistry
Decay, injuries and accidents and gum disease are well known causes of tooth damage.
No matter how broken or decayed a tooth/teeth can be; its worth the effort to have your dentist look at it before condemning it for removal/extraction. Many more times than we think Dentists can restore even "hopeless" teeth.

Dental Crowns
Broken teeth, cracked fillings, decayed , worn teeth can result from the causes listed above. Dental crowns make it possible to regain naturally looking teeth that have structure, strength and normal function. Dental Crowns are made from mainly ceramic material or porcelain fused to metal. All metal crowns can also be fabricated. Should you require a dental crown, usually 2 appointments are necessary. During the first visit, information needed to design your restoration is gathered, your tooth prepped, and then finish up by placement of a temporary crown. During your second visit, exchange of your temporary crown for your permanent crown. Dr Zengeni will check to see that it fits snugly and make adjustments if necessary. Rigorous brushing two to three times a day and daily flossing will arrest tooth decaying bacterial growth from the base of your crown. One should also be sure to schedule professional cleanings at least two times each year along with a preventive exam.
Dental Bridges(Fixed)
|
Should there be a missing tooth, a fixed bridge can be made to join a false tooth called a pontic to adjacent teeth. The adjacent teeth are re-shaped to accept the bridge which consists of crowns joined to the pontic on both sides. For unhealthy, adjacent teeth, surgically placed dental implants may offer a solution by creating a solid anchor for the bridgework.
When a number of teeth need to be replaced, a removable partial denture or an implant supported prosthesis may be recommended. |
